1st week with a bank holiday since end of d2d payments

Post by celerycelery »

As next Monday will be the 1st week with a bank holiday since d2d's were put into our workload what do we do with the 1/6th we are meant to deliver on the Monday. Do we take 1/5th for that week only or do a little bit of the Monday's d2d's over the rest of the week?

From the D2D guidelines....
3. In the interim period, prior to a structural revision you should establish from the guidelines beneath what interim arrangements need to be put into place to deal with D2D workload. These interim arrangements should be agreed locally with the CWU and be reviewed at the normal weekly resourcing meetings. Special attention will need to be paid to bank holiday weeks in the weekly resourcing meetings and contingency arrangements for late arrivals should also be agreed and put in place.
From the managers guide....
• On Bank Holiday weeks the D2D should be based on at least 1/5th delivery per day.

You have one less day to deliver them just like before the change.

Pre change it was 4 days for BH weeks

Post change its 5 days on BH weeks due to Saturday being a offical DTD day.

Revert back to your pre 2010 breakdown for a normal week and thats how you divide your DTD up over the week.

In the 2010 agreement the d2d will be spread over 6 days no mention of 5 or a bank holiday. Before the agreement we used to get more for d2d ie 20% extra if they came in on a tuesday or if they were late. if they came in on a wed 40% extra or the option to refuse them. I would like to know what is the procedure of this happens now? I think the manager should offer you some overtime as an incentive ie 1 hour if 1 day late 2 for 2 days etc

Think you will find there was mention of Bank Holiday weeks regarding d2d in the 2010 agreement. So no financial incentive needed to get them done, just the need or want to keep your job should do it.

That's good, so we don't have to come in to do just one sixth of the Door To Doors. :nana :nana

When was the last bank holiday and when is the next one in Scotland? I thought I would be off on Monday but apparently not. There wasnt one last month in my DO. I asked one of the one's in charge and they said we gave that up and next one October. Anyone?

Expect the sack then.

D2D are live mail now remember.

2 in my DO have already been caught by IB for not delivering D2D properly in recent weeks.

I'm sure there must be others in the pipeline so be careful. :cuppa

We're in Scotland and we are off on Monday.
We voted to move ours to the end of August to tie in with the majority of the business.
We were sick of getting shafted in September with two days mail.
Our "sister" office that shares the same premises voted to keep their "local holiday" so they are working on Monday. :left: :chuckle
....but they get us back in September. :cuppa

I've never heard of one in October but that might be a local thing.
BTW....we don't get St Andrews Day. :evil/mad
