Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
Part time shafted yet again. They expect us to work every fri, sat & mon. Thought this was supposed to be a national agreement. Not just one for full timers. I may be pt but i still do a five day week. Only difference is i dont do any ips. Still have to prep my own round. So where is my 1 in 4 off???????? I voted no. Hope everyone who voted yes is starting to realise the consequences. No going back now.

As a part timer I am disgusted, I've already been shafted with door to door payments and now I'm gonna have to work Friday saturday and monday. Well done union

Where does it say you HAVE to work Fri Sat Mon. It is an option if there are people willing.Dracula's Apprentice wrote:As a part timer I am disgusted, I've already been shafted with door to door payments and now I'm gonna have to work Friday saturday and monday. Well done union
What is wrong with you people?
Disgusted from p/t could be a new comedy character.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
It is likely PT in post now will have more options for SATS off or 3/4 day weeks than FT it DID say working fri/sat/mon was OPTIONAL for PT in post.
Where it might have effect is future recruitment and that MAY have a lot more PT weekend work duties.

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
if you stay on 1 in every 6 weeks with a long weekend the other 5 weeks will still be a shorter working day so no extra work just your own delivery i for 1 dont fancy a 9.45 hour day

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
That looks like it was a bit of a head scratcher,i'm expecting a "This is how it is,don't like it?,leave!" attitude from my DOM,i still cannot see at least 1 of my libo's accepting the fact that this is a JOINT effort at local level between management & employees.

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
at the moment we get 8 or 9 saturdays off every year with the new proposals we are set to gain 3 to 4 extra saturdays off a year. But at what price? Now we just do our own delivery on a saturday but to get the extra 3 to 4 saturdays off a year, we will have to do extra work for up to 44 saturdays a year whos the winner here?

I have found what it means.....dropbag_clone wrote:"Collapsing bulk routes on a Saturday"

This will generally apply to Bulk (Firms) routes where, because of the high number of business closures on a Saturday,
there is the opportunity to collapse such routes, thereby creating some Monday to Friday only jobs.

I'll stick to my 1 in 6, btw, shouldn't all of this and other unexplained parts of the agreement been sorted out before we voted

This raises a good question.dblad wrote:I'll stick to my 1 in 6,
Just how individual is your choice going to be?
Will you have to go with the majority of the office?
Will two or three different attendance patterns be acceptable?
Or is it possible to have the whole menu plus some extras in the one office?....fun and games for holiday allocation.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
You really tink any DOM is going to allow 1 in 2 saturdays off?
This really is bullshit.
Attendence patterns will be imposed with the least palatable option being enforced.
Believe me, our DOM is a vindictive c***.

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
We have to PT people doing a FT job, and they do a week about, we have a few jobs like this, fair enough they are generally on a 24hr contract but the people who do these seem happy enough, plus they get the chance to do OT if they so desire.pickaname wrote:You really tink any DOM is going to allow 1 in 2 saturdays off?

Most of us do the 1 in 6 week off, and to be honest for our office I think most people would stick to this, we also have a couple of people doing a rolling day.
I've yet to get a solid answer on whether more than one option will be allowed, I expect it will come down to how many people want what, as usual!
