Annual Leave Criteria

How is Annual Leave allocated these days? I know Seniority is gone so whats taken its place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seniority should still be in place for holidays is in my office

We all pick the weeks we want and then if there are too many picked in 1 week then seniority is the tie breaker.

AFAIK we still use the seniority list at my office, 1st pick - starts at the top and works down the list, 2nd pick - starts at the bottom and works up the list.
I think its a local thing Glenno.

we have 1 list split into 3 sections originally done on seniority...
1st section piks then 2 then 3 then the following year 1st section moves to bottom and so on

do you think that is another RM ploy to p1ss us off ,because for the first time ever i couldn't get a week off in august and so it seems other people in my office couldn't neither. I thought lapsing allowed more people on leave not less

I'm SURE there was an agreement about 6/7 years ago that said seniority was NOT to be used for allocation of annual leave. It was stopped in our office after that.

This is exactly what has happened at my D O especially with people who have been in the job a while

As far as I'm aware seniority for holidays has gone....It's only comes into to play when applying for a duty...? (correct me if I'm wrong) As for holidays....we have a 5yr plan....where the computer randomly picks out your order..! Supposed to get a level mix over the 5yrs....some good,some bad..! It's worked so far....that was until management lost 2 of the sheets....!!! f***ing idiots......how these people ever got employed I'll never know...!!!???

In my unit all peeps are put into leave groups eg all drivers in one group. List runs in order of seniority and staff select two weeks and moves down to next on list to select, gets to bottom and staff select next two weeks going up the list, goes back down list for those with six weeks annual leave.

Works OK
