Whilst we were clearing in the missort van today one of our Obergruppenfuehrers... sorry, line managers recited a proclamation from Darth Leighton in the death star that all D2Ds must be delivered by thursday, to which he was of course greeted by hoots of derision, politely told where to put said households and informed that we're only contracted to deliver to 20% a day.
However it got me wondering and it's better to safe than sorry. Do they all have to be delivered by Thursday or not? Anyone know for sure? I don't wanna get taken down the conduct code for something as stupid as D2Ds. Thanks.

Re: D2Ds on week of the strike
hi sparksy, i havnt heard any1 in my place say anything bout d2d yet, 2day i took half of my dutys d2d out with me, why shud i loose even more money than what we already are! it wud just be something else for them to moan at us.. if the strike is to continue on i think wee need to look further into the d2d situation as one cant take 2 days all the time to do the things!!Sparksy wrote:Whilst we were clearing in the missort van today one of our Obergruppenfuehrers... sorry, line managers recited a proclamation from Darth Leighton in the death star that all D2Ds must be delivered by thursday, to which he was of course greeted by hoots of derision, politely told where to put said households and informed that we're only contracted to deliver to 20% a day.

I would get them out of the way ASAP, give no excuses for any criticism or disciplinary action, but on that note many walks in my office have only received one DTD for this week so far, which begs the thought "are they trying to cut down our potential earnings for the week?" and if they choose to do it like that, why all the fuss about delivering five a week?
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

3 lots of D2D's. I took 20% today, will take 20% tomorrow, Wednesday day off, 20% Thursday, that will leave 40%. 20% taken out by relief & 20% left on strike day. Will only claim for 60%, only doing what managers say (20% per day). Not worried what happens to othe 40%, not my problem its the line managers.
Happily Retired.

the way I read the national agreement was 20% of total amount of D2D to be delivered each day, anything else is a local agreement. So unless you have a local agreement to the contrary then Fridays 20% just aint our problem, were not getting paid so we don't have to do the work. Personally, however, I'm thinking of the money and how much we're losing already so I'm doing them all unless the union says otherwise.johnnypick wrote:Yes they could, like it or not lads its a national agreement ,unless you are on a walk with no time what so ever to prep and deliver them the only other way is to get a gripper to do them.
