If you have kept the receipt and you have a rare sympathetic dom then I would say to give him the receipt along with an explanation. If you get nowhere with that then put in a grievance. RM pay mileage for private cars to those who use them so I dont see why they wont pay for an essential like water.

I have enough problem getting the right pay never mind trying to claim for water. However it would be good since I tend to drink between 2-4 litres during my duty whatever the weather hot or cold.

I know it might be a long shot, but have you tried to get your dim to buy crates of bottled water out of first line fix money ?
In the past, we've used our's to buy tea, coffee and milk (taxman stopped that one after a month), and even sunglasses !
It's gotta be worth a try ...... :cool

Fill up bottles before you go out and put one in every bag.

Your manager should be aware that RM issue water bottles, have a word with him.

We have them at our place.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

And if you can, freeze them the night before, so they are ice cold when you need them, not luke warm.

We were provided with a bottle each if we wanted them this week. The only problem is that we have nowhere to fill them, the only taps we have leave us no room to fit the bottle under and the drinking fountain, which barely trickles should be renamed to water garden due to what's growing in there.
