Thought I'd Seen Everything...I Have Now!

Post by redhand »

Council Tax today. After 2.75 hours throwing the walk up, was told not to put any in the part of the walk I was cutting off. To which I replied it's a bit late now.
Well take them out I was told. Sod that I thought, they're in, so I'll leave them in. When I get back to the office they'd all been taken out and left by the frame to go tomorrow. Pathetic or what! 2nd class mail in your frame and ready to go and it's pulled out and held back. Surely a case of wilful delay if ever there was one! Absolutely seething :arrrghhh

yeh it would be a case of wilfull delay if you had taken them out, but as it was a manager that had done it then thats ok.

Managers withold mail and delay it to suit their budgets & targets- and that is acceptable?

Does the regulator know about this?

Does your MP / council / councillors know RM managers are WILFULLY delaying Council Tax letters to suit their own objectives, after Councils have paid good money to have them delivered?

If not why not?

Is your council tax 2nd class RM mail? Ours is DSA, the tight twisted gits. No savings passed onto us though :no no

Ok,here's a gooden for ya all.

On Monday,we had the council tax bills, and DFS.
All hell broke loose,DIM didn't know what to do,i pointed out we usually since god was a kid always got 2/3 days for them.

He pointed out that there was a clear office policy,i pointed out, not on bulk postings, reminding him the god was a kid thing.

He shat himself and somehow he came up with this plan!!

Throw EVERYTHING in,then only take HALF the walk,i pointed out he was talking bolllox and wtf was he doing as s**t loads of live dated mail would be left!!

But he still went ahead with it.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

our dim done this over christmas and also during the severe snow, took over a week for us to catch up with everything. wheres the logic? instead of throwing off the 1st class live letters and leaving the 2nd and mailsort? makes u wonder where these people come from????? :arrrghhh

Managers have no logic, morals etc... One rule for them another for us:

This week we had council tax too, busiest day they, shock horror, cancelled the lapse/absorption!! Of course they had someone ready to take the walk - didn't they?? Oh no, we came in the next day and not one letter had been taken out on that walk so we got the pleasure of doing a double-lapse
And that was not the only time that managerial wilful delay has occured in our office this week, I've seen at least three reasonable instances this week alone.

But of course all these savings and cutbacks are working and saving money so that's what counts at the end of it all.. :hmmmm

If there are any instances of live first class mail being left until the next day you should jot it down in a diary. You should also write to ask.allan@royalmail.com and tell him. The good thing about that is that you get a receipt email back saying that they will look into it. Obviously they will have to otherwise they are aiding wilful delay :Very Happy
Lots of managers would be squirming if we do
