It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Isn't there something mentioned at the back of the courier about post office products?

However, I used to work at Direct Line and even though we got a discount on their loan rates etc, there were still cheaper places out there.

Depending on how much you need, Barclaycard are doing a 6.8% rate on their simplicity card (I got a new card with a £3000 limit for example's sake). Thats not bad, even in comparison with a real term loan. This is of course a credit card though. Still, transfer the balance with some other companies and you could end up having an interest free loan. Probably will not get you a brand new car though

Typical loan would be 7-8% APR with excellent credit. (http://www.creditexpert.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Post office rates as standard are 9.9%-13.9% APR and while not bad, there are, as the other poster said, better deals around. Advantage is that it's unsecured.
