Are there any Good Managers

Post by The prisoner »

This may seem like a strange question to ask these days but are there any GOOD managers at your office. The reason I ask there are so so so many D**kheads who call themselves mangers(total w**kers that they are) I wonder are any Good and decent ones that you wouldn't mind going the extra bit for.

:nana Sometimes, when we get a relief Manager in from another office, they seem almost human, sadly the longer they
stay, the worse they get, as thet seem to get tarred with the same feathers as the permenant D.O.M.

Actually we have 1 excellent part time Manager who happens to be female. When you ask for help when its busy she does not put pressure on you to complete and will do her best to find cover. If she cant you know she has tried and accept it, in fact if this happens 98% of the posties wont cut off because we know she has done her best so we go that extra bit for her. Sorting is quicker and easier when she is on and the banter and atmosphere is better. In effect when she is in charge, more work gets done, less are off sick, the place is happier and there is more give and take.

She is in fact the closest I have seen to a Forces gaffer in the Royal Mail and is head and shoulders above the male managers.

Our line manager is quite good if not a little weak with the loud mouths  . His aproachable, friendly and will make an effort to sort out a problem. He does like to get out of the door early though

Twenty one managers on the Ops side on one shift. It's a parallel universe, right enough. :hmmmm
