600 (yes 600) hours to go at my office!!!

Post by pickaname »

They wanted 1000 hours out but decided it was too much. They have now settled on 600 but my office barely functions as it is. The only thing that keeps it going is overtime, which they want abolished. Take out OT and it wouldnt function - end of.

Works out that indoor work will be split 3 into 2 with one of the 3 doing IPS all morning and the other 2 throwing their own and half the other off. Oh and the remaining night shift will be removed completely too.

Some days we barely have enough time to do our own and the DOM hasnt made allowances for prep of D2D in this time either.

Im sure they could make some savings but 600 hours seems like a hell of alot of work to remove.

Its worrying as our DOM is ruthless and inhuman with no people skills. A total robot.

How long before RM start using the conduct code for perfomance related issues?

600 hours for every day or week or month or year. Just asking as I have no idea.

Per week is the usual timescale for cuts.

just out of curiosity how large is the office? we have been told that they want to save 280 hrs per week out of an office of just over 100 staff.just to see if there is anything in common in these figures.the office in which i work will have some major thinking to do as a good proportion come in early, moan that the union is useless but wont stick together so anyone that wants to work to time is isolated.crazy situation but unless we get our act together we will be further down sh*t creek without the proverbial paddle.

Yea i know, but the DOM hasnt included this in the impending review. I dont know why.

And our rep is great...one of the best...its just Royal Mail havent issued him with the proposals yet but have already begun a preference excercise with the option of redundancy or part time hours. You have to remember that the managerment in our office are as corrupt as they come. A bunch of gangsters really....no really.

1 thing to rember ,we had a DOM like that, would not listen to anyone it had all been worked out calculated and double checked, over 6 months and 100s of hours in planing for Peagus.Pointed out walks were to big to his right hand man who simply said they were agerage size walks.

The moment they flicked the switch chaos, not enough vans, walks to big , mail back log,Agencey bill massive, hire van charges massive, yet DOM WAS TELLING EVERYTHING WAS OK.
the Result DOM SUFFRED A MASSIVE UNEXPECTED HEALTH PROBLEM proably brought on by stress, the stress these guys are under is massive.

Final result DOM has been replaced same hours as b4 Peagus .

here doesn't seem to be any real consistency with number of hours taken. I've got a mate who works in another office, bigger than ours, and they have lost LESS than us. He recently told me that he has just signed up to do regular ot, covering a walk... paid at SA rate. :hmmmm
