thanks for nothing RM

Post by wolfie citizen smith »

I just had my post delivered and spoke to our postie. I asked "I thought they would have just said deliver 1st Class mail only considering the weather conditions"
"you must be joking" was the reply.
Now I believe this is when a good unit rep is worth there sort to engage with the DIM to be reasonable, however the unit rep will have his work cut out i fear :arrrghhh :arrrghhh Shame on our employer for not giving our DIM's brains of reason. :no no Every Letter Every Day will be the reply. :d'oh! the rep will say
I can only imagine the amounts of Accidents on Duty that will now occure due to falling on ice/snow, Falling down stairs of flats due to snow/ice on the bottom of there company issues and what about the cycle accidents too.

Get Well Soon to all of our brothers and sisters who are experiencing current snow/ice injuries

Think it takes more than 3" of snow to cancel RM deliveries. Hardly a white-out!

Everyone else seems to be coping reasonably well, so why shouldn't RM?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Umm No - You are thinking of the US Postal service:

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

This is commonly misidentified as the creed of USA mail carriers, but actually it is just the inscription found on the General Post Office in New York City at 8th Avenue and 33rd Street.

You sure? I don't see any of my phrase in the quote below----
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
I was paraphrasing the RM ethos and reputation of the last couple of centuries...
