Clear Frames

Post by Stormproof »

This weeks team talk we were told we are not allowed any personal items on the frames, including packed lunch boxes and the like, as we could secrete mail in them, is this a way to get us all to use the canteen. Anything personal left on/under the frame the managers can go through without your consent or you being present.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I'm going to speak to our rep about this as we don't have enough lockers in our place, so if you can;t leave your lunch box on the top of your frame or other items you need to take with you where do you put them ? I can understand why they don;t want us to leave stuff lying about but they also need to see that we need somewhere to leave items whilst we're out.

Helmet, hi-vis vest and any crap from the management go on top of my frames so they can look through them if they want (I lock my man-bag away in my locker :Very Happy :Very Happy :Very Happy :Very Happy ).

It's a genuine leather man bag but it doesn't mean I'm a bad man :nervous (the fact is that I'm a very, very good man :angel ).

Anyway, back on topic, nobody should leave anything of importance on top of their frames because things do tend to go missing :nervous

I thought the top of the frames were not to be used for anything because of H&S issues :hmmmm

:nana We've had a clear frame policy for years. We used to get warning letters left on our frames, even for leavbing elastic bands --I kid you not. We were told we would ba taken down the conduct code.

Does this apply to management or do they not thief!. I would call it discrimination based upon social class which is not against the law but is harassment if one rule is for one but not for another!.

Managers can search through anything youre not carrying on you. They dont have the power of stop and search so if your posessions are left unattended then they could say they thought the item was lost or a bomb or whatever.

What`s a locker? You must work in an upmarket office if you have one of those. We haven`t even got pegs to put our coats on! Mind you, we haven`t got anywhere undercover to leave our bikes so this morning they were covered in three inches of snow.

We have so many lockers that there are spares, plus we have a changing room  (it's never used but it is there) and a bike shed that runs the entire length of the building and lots of space for everyone to move around..............................................there could be something in the rumour that some of the smaller office will end up in ours
