Re: who is to blame for this
Lets throw a spanner in the works.
The general "i'm all-right jack" attitude of postmen/postwomen, arguably amongst full-time staff, is to blame for the woes.
Refusing to co-operate with any form of modernistation or change, even sensible and important changes and,
Refusing to integrate with Part-time staff, making them part of the staff thus standing together against unfair practices and bullying by Royal Mail.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

When I started at Royal Mail many a moon ago, it would take over 2 years for senior postman to speak to you, even longer if they were a PHG, apart to give you the priority services and by f**k were you in trouble if you 1st sat on there stall along the Sorting Frames or 2nd sat at there Prep 48 Frame and worst still if you sat at there table in the canteen.
Newbies have to gain respect and not automaticly believe they should be given it.......

The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Working along side these "prigs" for all these years has shown me how in some respect they hate change, however some of them have past on and the remainder will be offered EVR.General Mannerheim wrote:Yes there was a lot of prigs about then.wolfie citizen smith wrote:When I started at Royal Mail many a moon ago, it would take over 2 years for senior postman to speak to you, even longer if they were a PHG, apart to give you the priority services and by f**k were you in trouble if you 1st sat on there stall along the Sorting Frames or 2nd sat at there Prep 48 Frame and worst still if you sat at there table in the canteen.

Out with the old and in with the new, however some of us who are not 55 yet hold that senior position now within the unit and change will happen and this is going to be execpted, unfortunatley the caddets will always fill the brunt and now part timers have come into the frame as well, don't take it as an asault on your caractor, its work banter to get you through those mornings. it took years for me to work that one out

Re: who is to blame for this
But when you receive those information you never get the full picture how it will affect your working life.
I mean I thought this will mean less sorting on IPS and everything will get easier with Walk Scheduling machine. But again Royal Mail and CWU are the blame as they never set out to explain what will happens when you vote yes.

Re: who is to blame for this
I don't think they were prigs, I just think they expected a bit of respect(remember many had been in the services and seen active service) I started as a young kid and they were all as good as gold to me(apart from calling me juniorGeneral Mannerheim wrote:Yes there was a lot of prigs about then.wolfie citizen smith wrote:When I started at Royal Mail many a moon ago, it would take over 2 years for senior postman to speak to you, even longer if they were a PHG, apart to give you the priority services and by f**k were you in trouble if you 1st sat on there stall along the Sorting Frames or 2nd sat at there Prep 48 Frame and worst still if you sat at there table in the canteen.

When you look at the job now(where you would be lucky to have 25% of the office know the IPS) and some of the complaints that we get, then if you could ask the members of the public who were around 30-20 years ago and ask them if they would prefer the "prigs" or the people we have now, I'd put my money on the prigs, but I could be wrong
