How would this work?
Hi there
- well it was an overwhelming no vote to the longer delivery span proposals in our office - management have now said that the proposals are still on the table but the latest is that 4 full timers will be transferred to other offices permanently thus making savings and then utilising part time work - now, intial thoughts to this were that this was a scare tactic to get the office signed up -what I would like to know is what are the official procedures for going about this? - I would think that there would be 3 possible options: 1 - ask for volunteers to go to other offices - 2 - offer VRs 3 - seniority - if it does go on seniority then I would be in the firing line and I certainly will not be volunteering to go elsewhere after 10 years service
- i take it that the union would be involved in any decisions or not? - really appreciate any feedback on this as this is a worrying situation (as it is in offices all over the country) - thanks .

Think you will find they will force thru under Ex. Action and see if you will be willing to ballot for strike, but I,am sure we are getting 4 bods from your office into Dumfy......or so I heard on the QT from a manager in here?????
Hope it does not come to this for all your sakes, but they are obliged to find you all an alternative office within I reckon a reasonable distance so they will not have to pay you too much for relocation etc etc ..

This is from the Pay and Mod agreement
Working in nearby offices “ Areas will identify and agree with the CWU locally a approach (which could include the use of volunteers and reserves) to working in nearby offices within employees contracted hours which will include travel times and appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements.
The more you know, the worse it gets.

Re: How would this work?
So basically you would appear at Cowden DO at your start time. They will then have to ferry you over to Dunf. You would then do your delivery and then get ferried back to cowden for finishing time. This will cost RM big and the managers at both offices are going to get majorly p*ssed off at having to organise this extra pick ups and covering it in their budget
I would advise you to work to your time and cause them as much disruption as poss. They might change their mind about doing it hopefully. Good luck from NE fife

It would be permanently but for a number of years you should be transported to and from cowden. During those years you should be sorting out how you will get there. Hopefully in the meantime they will get fed up transporting you.
