We have this charity food box in our office where you put a 1 pound in a honesty box and you can have a item 10p of that pound goes to chartiy. Well in the space of a few weeks the box was short of 54 pounds and all the food gone.

Ask for an announcement to be made in the WTLL session to tell staff what the rules are and that if the rules are not followed then the system will be removed.

With it being a case of dishonesty, maybe IB should become involved because if they'll do that then it's only a short step to pilfering mail.

Thats very interesting ,a couple of years ago I was reading a fascinating book called 'Freakanomics',in it there was a situation much the same in the USA,a guy left cookies on a tray and a honesty box,he was never more thana couple of dollers short every month.,I'll see if I can find it and post the chapter about that.

correct - there had to be notices about cutlery disappearing countersigned by the CWU - can't just say as long as noone is thieving from the mail it's allright ?

A bloke in Oldham fancied an extra day off over christmas and opened his DIY shop, went home and left a note asking people to take things and put the correct money in a bucket - he was a few pence up at the end of the day which goes to show that some people are trustworthy in the extreme.

And people trust these very same people to deliver their mail! God help us... I'd be tempted to contact the IB too.
