last in first out or can RM choose who is to lose there job.

Last in first out shouldn't be used to work out redundancies, I think it goes on a voluntary basis but it's never been offered in my office so I don't know for certain.

Not yet anyway. Last time we didn't have enough volunteers to go, a few years back,
RM indicated they would compulsory transfer the people with the least seniority, from
the MC to delivery offices. They backed off after we voted to take IA if there were
compulsory transfers.

many thanks for all replies they are about to make redundant ( get rid of ) 18 postmen in my office no one has put in for evr, so needed to know where i stand have been postman for nearly 19 years so i think i should be ok .Im not well liked ( not at all ) by my bosses as i do the job by the book .I am one of only a few that do so hopefully they cant get rid of me . All they want is the fastest they dont care how the job is done .Thanks anyway keep up the good work all those who do the job as it should be done .
