overtime rate?

being P/T i work 4 out of 6 working days.

if i had the oppurtunity to work the other 2 days overtime at what rate will i be paid?
time + third, time + half, double???

You will be paid at your normal hourly rate till you reach 40 hours then if you go over 40 hours you will be paid at OT rate which i believe is time and a third.

The OT rate is crap and that's after 40 hours, if I were you I'd tell them no thanks, if they want you to work extra they can give you a FT contract.

not sure about the rate I thought it was about time and a 1/4 - but you also have to remember that the rate drops once you have done 10 hours OT (so drops when you have done 50 hours) apparently it was something the Union wanted to discourage people working excessive OT.

We get normal rate (non-pensionable) until we pass 40 hours per week and then we get a reduced rate unless it's a Sceduled Attendance.

We never get payed more than basic (in real terms)

54p OT extra looking at that I'm glad I don't do OT anymore and i think everyone should do the same until we get at least 1 1/4.

It's even worse in London as with London Weighting our basic hourly rate is more than
all OT rates and SA, so we are working for less on OT than on our normal hourly rate.
RM must be the only employer who pays less for OT than the basic hourly rate.

Nothing wrong with Royal Mail pay, it's good money for what is essentially unskilled work. There are plenty of qualified people working for less than a salary at RM.

It may well have been a few years ago,but not now,deliverys are physically hard graft mate with walks 3hours plus,along with IPS and Prep its not as easy as it used to be.I agree we are paid a decent wage for what we do,but alot of us are now working a lot harder,which again i dont have a problem with as long as our wages can pay the bills.

Basically all jobs require the same thing, repitition, from brain surgery to sweeping the streets, you're taught how to do a particular job and you then do it over and over again until you do it in your sleep.

As they were short staffed I worked my long weekend, i.e. 8 hours Saturday and 8 hours Monday, but even though those two days are in separate weeks they are on the same pay statemant such that 6 of the 16 hours has been paid £1.02 an hour less as 'over 10 hours' rate, so is the pay week not calculated as Monday to Saturday ?

just stop doing the OT and that way they never do any of their little tricks

Overtime I think is done Wednesday to Wednesday but I could be wrong.
