Packets going through the roof
Years ago we delivered mail, nowadays its just packets & more packets. tell you something its a good job for Ebay, Amazon & play.com or we wouldn't have anything to deliver. I had two Yorks full on Saturday that I couldn't deliver, so they have been sat there all weekend with tomorrows to come. You can't put a square peg in a round hole, who's gonna deliver them when they are trying to cut down overtime? Crazy.

Packets going through the roof
In 3 days I have delivered about 350 parcels, I'm covering the area of 3 convey drivers and not taking all their parcels.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

My manager insists I wait for my area Posties extra pouches, 11am I got out this morning, & apart from dropping their pouches off I had to do my firms delivery & specials for 13.20 as I had no break & I don't do overtime, so when or who is supposed to do the 5 parcel tracks that I normally do in the week? At last count there was 2 & a half Yorks with the parcels I am supposed to do, some dating from early last week left on the loading bay?

It's not your problem, it's up to the management to ensure that there are sufficent staff to cover all the work.Beforenineoclockgoodone wrote:My manager insists I wait for my area Posties extra pouches, 11am I got out this morning, & apart from dropping their pouches off I had to do my firms delivery & specials for 13.20 as I had no break & I don't do overtime, so when or who is supposed to do the 5 parcel tracks that I normally do in the week? BTW this has been the worst Christmas ever in my time at RM, not Christmas spirit, no extra staff, no extra vans and all OT has to be agreed beforehand so people not really wanting to do any which has resulted in a backlog

Packets going through the roof
We've got loads of people coming in on their rota weeks, but of course we've got only 1 extra van, instead of the 6-10 we usually have, so the extra people are like spare pr**s at a wedding with noting to do, as we on rurals are getting back later and later, they've found they can't deliver in the dark, because they can't see the numbers or names, or get up the paths without tripping on something. Have to agree, with what others have said, the worst organized Christmas I've known in my 18 years at RM.
I know now why we have to work the 27th, gotta clear those damn packets :)
