Hello fellow Posties,
Can someone give me any information on how long it takes(or should take) for A manager to
put through the relevant paper work reg. the above?
Throughout my long sojurn with the company, I've had to accept that no Manager seems
to be able to deal with anything in any reasonable way.! And don't they just drive you mad?
Like most people, when I started with the Company, I was a completely normal, calm ,easy
going person-----now completely grumpy, depressed, and forlorn.
Also,I am finding it impossible to find an approprite email address.where I can make
a complaint about My Managers handling of the case-Help :nana

It is a tough job on the body without a doubt, and i say the longer a person does this job the worse off they will be in the end. It can be a real struggle to get through each day carrying so much on our backs!! It all takes its toll in the end. And i cant see why you would not get IHR if thats what you want, or else ask them for indoor work which does not involve carrying of the mail?
:nana Hi, again,Madilin4, No, Because of my condition,I have to use crutches, and the instability in my spine
means it can, and does, "go" on a regular basis.
I have already accepted I.H.R, but getting it finalised has been a nightmare---It was first agreed in August,
but with the usual changes of bosses, and the usual 'I've not got the time' attitude, or I promise etc etc,
i'm still no further forward.
I thought there was atime limit on these things.

:nana Yes.I have been told I am to get this money. THe main problem with my case, is that the Manager
who handled it initially, left. Then for a combination of reasons, things got rather muddled and overlooked---
in the past four weeks Ihad assurances about this ,that and the next thing, but they have all come to nought!!!!

they always have seemed to deliberately delay things or be obstructive - to see how far people are prepared to push things -the problem is being able to prove it - with L&C , it's got worse as many managers don't really have much authority with a top down - everything by dicktat from on high approach

Hi, norbett, I have to agree, sadly. Like most posties, I did not come into this job with a 'Balshy'
attitude, in fact I remember being shocked when I first started, at the terrible atmosphere
between staff and managagment, and for a number of years, held out as it were, even trying to justify
Managements attitude!
Now, i have to say, that sadly, most Managers deserve the Brickbats. There must be something
in the way they train these people, I have seen many a nice friendly postie going of for
'training' and come back as one of 'them'!
I would love to infiltrate these courses, and see what they are taught about 'Man' Management!

:wave hi .....Have you contacted Human Resources 08456060603 and explained to them the problems your having, if so what did they say? I have found them extremely good in the past on various issues.

:nana Yes, I contacted them last week, they said they were going to send an email and ask my Boss to
contact them---when i checked the next day, they said he had not responded, and they were unwilling to "push' him
I will wait another few days, but isn't it awful, when you try to ask about it, you are made to feel like some
sort of pushy fool!

It has been agreed that I can never return to this kind of work, and there really are no duties
which would allow me to work around my 'condition'----I accepted this in August, and again more recently.
It is just that, through no fault of my own, the Managment are not doing their jobs---I still sit and wonder
when they are going to get round to it------there has to be some obligation to at least keep me informed---
I keep getting assurances- then nothing happens!!!!
I have taken legal advice, and they tell me the Managment are in neglect of their duties.
On a lighter note, I was reading another post, where mention was made of wages being witheld illegally.
Given that the package has been agreed, could I claim the same?

I believe that on top of your IHR condition, this waiting around lark for the finalisation to transpier is extremely stressfull to you and your family.
Would a visit to your GP not be an idea?

I believe that RM's solicitors would argue that your IHR package isn't strictly wages - however would a Tribunal Judge or Panel Chairman be impressed by RM's handwringing , petty politics and slow timing ? - a sharply worded letter from a Solicitor or a IT-1 form application to Industrial Tribunal to get a ruling may speed things up ?

" An employer can stagger payment providing it all comes within a " reasonable time " . " What is "reasonable' depends on the facts . " Payment must come with a written statement of how it is made up . If not , an employer commits an offence carrying a £200 fine , citing Section 165 of the 1996 Employment Act to a reluctant employer may make them supply this ." ( Source Fenton Bresler - Britain's leading legal writer )

I've seen pamphlets from CWU Area - bonuses have been stopped as RM have tried to stitch someone up and had to reinstate people and pay them back pay - this smacks of someone's bonus and a fear culture

A little word from "a friend of a friend " to the local rag may have some effect " - the Nationals get stories from these local rags and in this day and age - it's not tittle , tattle or tomorrow's chip paper any more - the Google Spiders find these articles on the on - line editions and it's all over the Internet . Your enemies enemy could be your friend .

:nana I woud like to thank you so much for your replies and support------I have actually taken a lot of legal advice
and know there are lots of avenues I could go down----It is sad that people have to resort to this just to get Mangers
to do their job.
I have decided to wait until Wednesday, and if they have not at the very least informed me of how things are doing, I will set the ball rolling! I should know after all these years that they cannot be trusted, and I have a horrible feeling
they are doing this deliberatly!!!!!!
I will keep you all posted.
Cheers.
