If they do it doing their own prep time and not when they should be on Primary, Packets or Flats I can't see a problem.

My old DOM used to smoke, after the managers had breakfast he used to go to the smoking shelter followed by all the non smoking lineo's, talk about a bunch of brown nosers!

i always go for a fag in my own prep time unlike some who go take a dump or get drinks or sarnys in ips time

Why all the bullshit. No it isn t fair. We have 3 who go for a smoke 3 minutes before they are called on the IPS, then wander down to the IPS 5 minute after all the non smokers. The line manager asked them to do it in their own time and they did for about 2 days. It is like banging yoiur head against a brick wall. Why do people think they have to nick 3 minutes here and 5 minutes there. They are the same people that slag off someone else for maybe getting done 15 minutes earlier than them who didn t take a smoke break.

I better hold that s**t in a bit longer next time...will save the company a few valuable minutes and raise our stake in the 50/50 SIS scheme.

Remember - 3x5 minute dumps x 4 posties = 60 minutes.

Easy solution to this - tell staff they cant smoke on site and arent allowed to leave the site during prep time...duh!

Exactly as teebs says,we've a few smokers who when there is no IPS they have a fag,at no time do they slope off for one when the IPS is going on.

I would say that anyone who does needs to be pulled,that aint on.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dont tell RM or more cuts are coming our way FFS life would be so much more simple if WE JUST DID WHAT WAS IN FRONT OF US! Dont worry about what someone else is doing thats not our job but RMs if sorting takes too long who cares! Your all paid! if you go over who cares! You can claim docket or cut off but FFS stop moaning job and finish is gone. Funny it was my union rep who brought this up. HE told people to stop taking fag breaks during IPS. HE said itr was unfair on the others? No pretend lino here!
