Can someone answer me this - currently, pre DM26, what is causing offices to be able to have such vastly earlier Saturday finish times than the rest of the week. Up to 2 hours in some places versus Wed/Thursday for example.

No school traffic on saturdays and no 2nd class letters.

You misunderstand - what happens to the workload on a Saturday vs Wednesday/Thursday/Friday for example? The things you mention are the benefit of finishing earlier on a Saturday. This is pre DM26 (current) i'm talking about. Where does the 2 hours come from?

The longer week-days equal the shorter Saturday (total 37 hours).
The workload gets delivered the same.

This is pre DM26, so still doing second class etc. Are you saying you are saving 1hr 45 minutes on a Saturday due to traffic?

I understand the long and shorts aspect of it, i'm just trying to understand the extreme difference between some days - again, this is before DM26. Does mail/packets come into office 2 hours earlier on a Saturday morning or something?
