I got a bag of sweets and a card left on the doorstep today, very nice.

A bit strange considering I've never ever seen the people who live there. :Very Happy

Been off delivery for the entirety of peak with a new start covering my duty. He's had 2 tips...fiver and a tub of celebration, gave me both :dance Celebrations were dished out amongst the other HCT duties and let him keep the fiver cos I've not had to go deliver in any of the crappy weather.

My days off fell nicely so I'm not back till the 30th. At that point he's screwed as despite living just outside the town he knows where literally nothing is. Took him 2 weeks and dropping pins on google maps to learn the route for my HCT duty so good luck to him as a reserve.

I’ve had the very same thing said to me many a time over the years but I’ve never once knocked on the door for the very reason you just stated.

That age group equate us to every other courier company and treat us accordingly.

Yeah will get worse now as first few weeks we have full supplement of annual leave.

Wonder if they'll be an overtime ban again?

I think I got more tips as a reserve my first Christmas than I have this year.

Handed an item over to a customer on the 24th who has tipped me each previous year but did not do so this time. I sense it's because we've only conducted four letter deliveries since Halloween.
The machine stops.

I don’t doubt that for a second but it’s still a very strange phenomenon that it’s only a certain age group that will tip their regular postie and bin men etc.

My old Dad used to always tip the paper boy, dustman and postman. It was the only tip His postie got on the entire round
