Why do you think they are doing that ?

They don't need to see if you're sat parked up etc as the PDA will show you're not moving, are they trying to catch you out doing something wrong like leaving mail unattended in a trolley for too long, leaving the van unlocked etc ?

They think we drive around in the van together all day, which isnt the case.

I used to see our managers two up van driving round, if they spotted you they would check your footwear & ask to see your posting peg, everyone used to text each other to tip each other off :dance

Wouldn't that be solved by them looking at each of your PDA records which would confirm you weren't both together

When lapsing was brought back after P&L had settled-in, my colleague and I declined to take it one day. On the last loop what do I see drive by? LM in an RM van. Geographically totally out of the way - he could not have been merely travelling through the area. I stopped and waved vigorously :wave
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

They used to do checks that you're working correctly but that stopped with covid and never returned.

Do you mean the security people, think they were referred to as IB, haven't heard any reports of them for years they'd appear and check your van is locked, no mail in the cab, hct locked up, ask to see your id badge etc, one of ours got reported for leaving a lightweight trolley at the entrance to a cul de sac, another for leaving a "gone away" letter he'd been given back and temporarily just chucked it on the passenger seat.

Yes. It's part of their job. It's a requirement to observe us working and to record the findings. Have you spoken to the COM?

No, managers used to come out routinely to check you were wearing the correct uniform, using a LWT (no bag on shoulder), using the posting peg, trying neighbours, etc, etc.

A Manager out on patrol..... there's a site to behold of these days

the PDA not tracking correctly? bhahaha

Offer to them to help you out- that's what I used to do

This used to be the norm going back at least 15+ years ago as they used to check your uniform to how you deliver and whether you're using a trolley or not. How you secure N/L parcels/Loose mail- Bag drop stalking.

if you Don't know what a bag drop is, you missed the best times-

As I said, geography - an out of the way street that you would not drive down without reason. And his reason was that it was our last loop. He clearly checked the frame with the intention of finding us there early - which he did because we did the lower two-thirds of that duty in reverse.
Any Questions?
