If you haven't been with the company 3 years it doesn't matter anyway so if you have just started there's a long wait

In just a few weeks time it will be exactly 1 year since the CWU were shouting from the rooftops about how EP group were agreeing to a deal.

1 year.

Ward said there would be an update last week just gone and surprise surprise silence once again. He’s a complete fraud along with his little nodding lapdog Walsh.
I get the sense that they now finally realise a private equity fund from abroad doesn’t have the staff or the unions best interests at heart but are to embarrassed to admit it as they have basically rimmed Kretinsky for the past year. So instead of fronting up to the members they have gone down the silly fallback option they always do, gimmick number 27 have us all email our mps about how bad it all is.
Get. Them. Out.

What is the alternative? Who else will persuade the company to equalise the contracts? We've got no choice other than to sit this out and hope the company honour the agreement once the USO / ODM stuff is out of the way. Someone was suggesting join a different union with no knowledge of, or membership within the postal service. That seems counter-productive to me. Maybe people are proposing a change of leadership within the cwu, replace Dave and Martin, but I reckon whoever is in charge will continue getting messed around by delaying tactics which are coming from the company, not the union from what I can gather.

But I agree that the silence is appalling. Complete disregard for their members.

Sadly there is a big game of brinkmanship going on over equalising contracts and agreeing the uso change and neither side seems ready to give any ground. The new year will either bring an agreement or executive action to roll out the new uso changes regardless.

Brinksmanship? Ward and Walsh have been told the way it is. They are simply lying in public in an attempt to recruit workers who will get nothing for the money they give to the CWU. Despite what the CWU executive think, it's not their company and they don't decide what happens.

A lot has changed since then. The CWU know full well the way it is. Ward and Walsh are simply lying in public in an attempt to recruit new members. Workers won't join because they know they will get nothing for the money they give.
