I got my 10 year badge ages ago.
Was hoping to get my 20 year badge when that came up.
Only to hear they don't do it.
I even heard u used to get a royal mail tie after 25 years. Don't get that anymore.

To be fair not many would now get much use out of a tie?Apart from the employee themselves I doubt anybody cares about long service, as it seems most employers would sooner their staff move on every few years.buchanpeter wrote: ↑10 Nov 2025, 10:43I got my 10 year badge ages ago.

Absolute bullshit.
I think I'll put as much effort into my work as that 'reward' took.

You used to get ties at 15,20 and 25 years with a tie pin - bronze or silver as appropriate.buchanpeter wrote: ↑10 Nov 2025, 10:43

At 30 years you got a tie, tie pin and cufflinks in silver.
At 40 years in gold.
Women used to get a headscarf.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

To be fair, if they did one now it would have to be appropriately hideous to match the bowling shirt.buchanpeter wrote: ↑10 Nov 2025, 10:43I even heard u used to get a royal mail tie after 25 years. Don't get that anymore.
