im lucky if i pull 195 a week after tax, this only just barely covers all bills going out and food.

Cant speak for anyone else but i took a pay cut last year as i did the year before that and added to this years pay cut thats all i have ever had whilst working for RM!

My wages for 30 hours have decreased in real terms for years. I just got a letter from my gas/electric provider telling me how sorry they were that there were increasing their prices by 19% and 29% from LAST MONTH. Yes the 1.5% we got really made a difference, I can now afford to have my heating on for 10 minutes in the morning and the evening. Let the good time roll!

I've always worked, it's just something that I believe a man should do (not being sexist here) but this is the only job I've had where the benefits I am forced to rely on to provide for my family are more than my wages. I would have more disposable income if I was unemployed, how sad is that?

Yes thats what we were all balloted on and the majority agreed.
until the majority decide that they would rather lose a day or weeks money or however many days it takes money to reject these offers and fight for a better future for themselves their families and future employees you can safely expect more all encompassing agreements "2 year pay deals"from Dave Ward and his back slapping chums. It is easy to see and understand how people were left with the impression that the P and M agreement was for 1 year, and that the 1.5% was nothing to do with a 2008 pay rise, so expect next years claim (2009) to drag on endlessly thanks to back slappers at HQ, so much so that if and when we recieve a rise it will be good for 2 years or 3 or 4.

Although we must take the blame really as an agreement was voted in with the details not being present specificly annexes 1 and 2 or A and B. When i highlighted this to our area dely rep he said "yes that was poor communications from HQ wasn't it". I'll admit i was raging and told him to aviod me, unfortunatly not this politely, still i think i got my point across.
