The problem with silence in this climate is the the company will fill it with actions.

We are having a Frankenstein version of the ODM being put in at breakneck speed and it's far worse than what was agreed in the trials.
Instead of pushing for a Saturday only parcels then phase in other days of the week they agreed a method change that only works in small offices with 100% driving staff. It was always going to fail when it hit larger offices - maybe RM knew that.
They should know by now that the company will go ahead with any changes without agreement, if they think there is £ to be saved.

As long as management are raking in their over inflated wages plus bonuses, the CWU are cosying up to them and certain OPGs are working for free, nothing will change.

The CWU was once a great union decades ago. They had the power and strength to negotiate deals with the company as it was owned by the government.

When all else failed the government had to step in as Royal Mail was part of the golden communication era for the UK. The competition now with parcels and the Internet there is not much room for bargaining. Its a very difficult time and different time for the union or any other union in fact.

Yes the fight will go on (as the union put it), but unless the union have solid beliefs that they can do better for the workers then unfortunately that's not going to happen any time soon.

Silence is golden from the union sometimes and sometimes I prefer it that way.

The CWU should have used the last three years to reduce their dependency on payslip deductions because if axing that hasn't already been threatened as alleged, then in the near future I can see that absolutely being used as leverage. If you think they won't try it, someone remind me how long the 'industrial relations reset' lasted after EP Group took over.

Yeah they should have started trying to convert members to direct debit or standing order/credit or debit card payments.

Imagine if RM also threatened to end paid release for reps.
