Vr how's it going to work
30 years of this s##t show, there's going to be a minimum of 1200 vrs possibly upto 2000 , any rep on here know has this is going to work the process ,will it work out at least 1 person per office regardless of size ,or will size of office come into the reckoning , or will management at each office ask for volunteers and take it from there any info/ideas how things are going to work , think there will be plenty of volunteers from the 50 + age category, me included.

Re: Vr how's it going to work
It makes no sense to 'spread it out' 1 per office etc.
It will be down to individual office surplus/needs etc.

A chance of 1 voluntary redundancy per office?comeracing wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 20:20Which is unfair ,as they will bend the rules to suit ,personally I think every office should have a chance .
Every way which they do VR someone will find it unfair. They aren't going to give VR in an office that has permanent shortage of staff.

Nothing to do with "fair" and everything to do with reducing the head count in certain (allegedly) over-staffed offices.comeracing wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 20:20Which is unfair ,as they will bend the rules to suit ,personally I think every office should have a chance .
All a pipe-dream anyway, as staff turn-over is so high.

Is this not post-ODM when 1 in 4 is going to be surplus?
The machine stops.

Re: Vr how's it going to work
I don't even understand how there would be any VRs. If it's the equivalent to 1 from each office then just give it a month and 1 person from each office will leave anyway.
I guess there might be some smaller offices that have had the same 5, 10, 20 posties for many years and you might need to pay 1 of them off.

I would have expected RM to declare the excess staff as supernumerary and then move them to offices with not enough staff.Tman wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 21:30Nothing to do with "fair" and everything to do with reducing the head count in certain (allegedly) over-staffed offices.comeracing wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 20:20Which is unfair ,as they will bend the rules to suit ,personally I think every office should have a chance .

Re: Vr how's it going to work
Good try at being a WUM but the union wouldn't have announced there are going to be 1,500 VR's if every single surplus postie was going to be moved elsewhereSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑26 May 2025, 06:23I would have expected RM to declare the excess staff as supernumerary and then move them to offices with not enough staff.Tman wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 21:30Nothing to do with "fair" and everything to do with reducing the head count in certain (allegedly) over-staffed offices.comeracing wrote: ↑22 May 2025, 20:20Which is unfair ,as they will bend the rules to suit ,personally I think every office should have a chance .

Re: Vr how's it going to work
Given they haven't officially announced when the USO reforms commence how can they officially announce when any VT's will take place? Assuming they are all in place by the peak season then you can see VR's commencing early next year.
