Delivery Supplement to be part of the pay rise

Post by markis »

I have it on good knowledge that the talks on the pay rise will combine the delivery supplement and above inflation percentage as a long term pay rise, what this means is that the delivery supplement of £29.35 will be merged with the pay rise ,so let’s say it’s a 7% long term pay rise, which means we will not get another pay rise for three years, it would be 7% with delivery supplement which would then be sold as a big pay rise, why ? because our hourly rate has jumped up.

But most of us already get the supplement so it wouldn't be a 7% rise.

Nothing new here. Martin Walsh confessed months ago he'd sold the functional supplement to subsidise an offer. Using our own money to subsidise our pay is not a pay rise. This industry is a multi-billion pound one where the bosses pay themselves millions. Stop letting the CWU accept the crumbs from the floor and start demanding what is rightfully ours - the money made by our labour.

Yeah i raised this in a thread talking about the equalisation of pay, it seems more like a pay cut than a rise.

So they just pay us the same as we get now plus a small increase in pensionable pay and call it a rise? It’s all spin.

I thought the only difference with the delivery supplement is you either get it or if on the new contract you don't.

Will the ones in DOs on the new contracts get that payrise? The way it's going there's going to be at least 4 pay rates in RM depending on what function you're in and if you're on a new contact or not.

As it stands is it just the delivery supplement that's going or will the other functional supplements be going as well?

Delivery supplement is roughly 6% of our pay, so we're really getting 1%. ??? and it will be pensionable so isn't even 1%.

Well I hope he's included office coach in the mix, that's got to rank as one of the biggest waste of money allowance ever, can't remember when it first got introduced think it was about 12 years ago so that's well over 20k each and if like ours it's been paid for doing practically f**k all.
