Also got a missive from the Pension saying they can afford to keep it going "only as long as Royal Mail continues as a commercial business" and that they have to make sure the shortfall does not get worse as it would be too much for the business to sustain.

A coincidence me thinks not.

pension

Post by jafferpants »

hi guys. taking about the pension how many of you knew that a few years ago when it was 2 seperate plans royal mail paid the pensions actury a six figure sum to look in to the possibility of merging the two plans to cover up a shortfall in one of them. The company (watsons) as it was known then advised most strongly against the merger as it could cause problems later.royal mail ignored them. The rest as they say is history :so there . .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Just a thought, would it be an idea to put a poll up simply asking did you vote yes or no. That way, we could see the results as the come in. It would be an interesting counter I think.

People then dont have to say which way they have voted they can just vote in the poll if you see what I mean.

Admin, can it be done?
