Is it true that it is now compulsory to wear our royal mail issue shoes these magnums are a disgrace and are the cause of more accidents had mine five months and done in completely. I do have a pair of the dns issue am i still ok to wear these as they are royal mail issue and are much safer.

If they are supplied by RM then you can wear them.

Yes, I went flying testerday on wet tiles much to the shock of the residents inside the house I was delivering to. Also they are little more waterproof than a seive and on wet days I need to take a couple of spare pairs of dry socks to get through the day and that's with a newish pair of the shoes.

It's just whatever the cheapest tat that RM can buy, my fleece keeps out the rain better than the storm coat (but my harrington was even better).

:cfo :lfo would have us running around like tramps just because it's cheap. :mad

I've had mine about 5 months and they are worn out, and as everyone else says, lethal in wet weather, I've worn my old issue boots, though they let water now at least I'm not slipping over......nearly went down some stairs last week in the wet. Its a blooming disgrace.

Yep ,totally agree they are crap. 4 months of summer use and they are shot .1st time it rain the sole started coming off at the front and the protective layer started peeling of the leather.

Same here.
Flipping lethal shoes, especially on cobbles, metal, slate.
Why has nothing been done because there must have been accidents on duty with these crap

dog bait wrote:seems to be alot of moaning about slipping in the shoes.i shall say this only once.it aint the shoes people its the surface your standing on. falgstones, tiles and alike get covered in algi which when wet will make anything and everything slide.basic h&s says dont even attempt delivery.remember home owners liability act.if they cant be arsed to clean them regularly its up to you to sue them to their senses :dance

I think you will find you are wrong about all footwear sliding on these surfaces...Doc Martins don't slip and slide...I nearly broke my bloody neck in those magnums!!!!

I've had no problems with the grip from my Magnum Safety Boots. But I've been told that they have a different sole to the ones you get.

Try ordering the Safety Boots, and see how you get on. They still leak like a sieve when it rains, and mine are falling apart already. But at least they don't slip, even on the tiles in Reception.
