2 of the Bristol posties back to work after nearly a year ,just me left now ET in 4 weeks I did'nt except first offer because I want my old job back not a move to another office.CWU has been behind massive campaign in Bristol T.V, press ,billboards,marches headed by Dave ward etc you name it they did it.The pressure has definitely worked the CWU have been fantastic ,anyone not in the union your mad,talks still going on at the top we are nearly there it's been a long year.I said I would fight this to the end fingers crossed I will get my old job back or we go to court with a very good Barrister.

Royal Mail have always regarded themselves above the law , been autocratic and done what they liked - also they've hid behind the official secrets act for far too long .

The problem is that it has got a lot worse with :lfo & :cfo at the helm , i.e. Who was giving the orders ? & precisely who was trying to impress whom ? with this desired "culture chang"e ? , you've got to look at the culture & the origin of this regimented style as there's very few opportunities to impress if you "manage " by dictat .

Worst of the old and new cultures - nothing new there .

You've a very negative , siege mentality "management " and reliance on highly paid barristers to get RM out of the corners that they bloody -mindedly backed themselves into .

Play these people at their own game , call their bluff as Belai says . - One thing is for sure , the fluffy site would have kittens if this was posted up .

But in my indivdual case what is interesting is that we also have a highly paid Barrister so the tables are very much turned ,if you knew the facts & evidence in my defence you would be confident aswell, when it comes to the crunch I am more than happy to go to ET.The truth always comes out in the end.

You're doing the right thing with 100 % backing from the CWU - otherwise RM would declare open season on reps and activists .

There's nothing profound or sophisticated about what RM are doing - basically it's " our word against yours and nobody is going to believe you and we'll close ranks and hope you'll be daft enough to fall for it " - that's straight out of the 70's i.e . " Me and my colleague saw you go through two red lights and fail to stop at a zebra crossing and we'll testify " .

Just a more subtler form of bullying - usually verbal than what was done before - but still everything based on bullying ?



Unfortunately the real world doesn't play so neat and tidy - especially with all those holes , contradictions , so called coincidences etc - DOH ! - arrogance is RM's Achille"s Heel - also you've got to look at who is responsible for this arrogance :lfo ? -

the buck has to stop somewhere and with an ET RM can't buy themselves out of a hole so easily .

Royal Fail Managers made mincemeat of & grilled , fried and roasted by a top Barrister at a Manchester ET - article's a bit long but there's little gems such as " not everyone in the world has gone stark raving mad " - " the panel listened to this sorry tale with incredulity " - " Royal Mail managers pursuing their own perverse programme as hypocritical paragons of political correctness - they would have made explemplary Puritan Witchfinders or members of the Inquisition " .

In a nutshell they tried to teach him a lesson and tried to break his a*** as they'd rather command and ignore all the skivving and p**taking .

The other irony was that it was flagged up to Leighton so this nonsense could be stopped but it just got sent down the RM food chain again , there's no truth in the rumour that the BNP's Nick Griffin sent a thank you letter to RM ! for recruiting for them !

The manager who caused all the trouble in my case had a ET 2 weeks ago over sick procedure with another postie, he was cross examined by one of our reps & lets just say he was not a credible witness, so up against a London Barrister is going to be fun, I have waited a year for this ,he can hide behind RM but not in an open court ,I know that justice will prevail & being 100% innocent I, unlike him have nothing to hide so bring it on.
