hi all , kens the name yorkshire distribution centre is the game, not from yorkshire though moved up here from south london in 97". started off as telegram boy at sedo in 1975, moved to SE19 six months later , stayed there as messenger for two years and moved to norwood delivery office, where i spent twenty enjoyable years pounding the streets and driving. And now i have ended up out to pasture working in the gatehouse at YDC.
Did not know anything about this site until now came accross it while i was looking for other royal mail sites, looking for some funding for my daughter who has been accepted at the hammond school
.Our daughter, Lucy, is 12 years old and attends the local secondary school. She has had dancing lessons from the age of 3 years. Her first love is ballet, and during a recent Yorkshire Youth Dance Theatre course in the Easter holidays, top-level professional teachers from the Hammond Ballet School in Chester noticed her potential.
The Hammond School is a centre of excellence and offers vocational training in Classical Ballet for the most gifted and talented young students. Places at the school are fiercely sought by potential students from both within the UK and Internationally. Lucy's potential for achieving the highest possible standards was recognised by the school and, exceptionally, Lucy has been offered an unconditional place, without audition, to begin vocational and academic training in September 2008.
Lucy is desperate to take up this place and certainly deserves it, but unfortunately, the tuition and residential fees needed are far beyond our means.
so if anyone has any ideas , i need to raise 10,000 pounds, do you think royal mail will help? and who do i contact? any other contacts from all of you would be much appreciated, thanks ken

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Perhaps you need to set up a show with local group and ticket sales can pay for the course. Just to give her experience in performing in front of audience. Say 10 pounds a seat and you need an audience of 1,000 two or three times and then she can pay for the course and 5,000 pounds for other things.
