Ta for that, I was wondering if there was anyone on here had used that system and their views on it,.even when you can see people working in the video it just looks like 3 or 4 blurry people covering what wouldve been around 20 walks and when people are in focus nobody around,edited to look busy. It still makes no sense, if you're going to lapse you just lapse a duty close to surrounding duties,its not fxxkin rocket science!! I think someone mentioned lapsing rural? if you're lapsing rural duties others are going to have to drive further wharever system you use,dear God! They've solved a problem that wasnt there. Oh and if my manager saw me throwing letters in at the speed that close up showed,well you can see where I'm going. That manager said they could now do away with revisions, I think he meant seniority

I think it would mean both as effectively there's just one whole of office duty and the manager allocates a "fair" portion of it daily which is decided by the days mail volumes.

What could possibly go wrong?

As someone said on another similar thread, look on the bright side at least IPS will be a piece of piss.

But management are still going to have to shuffle people around daily? And if people are going to do the same section every day they may as well have a duty? IPS, one big box for the whole walk

It's so frustrating for us long timers when management who don't have a clue, come up with ideas that clearly to anyone who does the job, will not work for the best of the company. There's a reason most posties phrase of choice is 'its not rocket science '. It's because it isn't! Remember that Japanese s**t that the company wasted millions on ten yrs ago?

Very true. The thing with this idea is that its essentially the same as what was before,just fittings are all in a row and they dont call them duties and people could emoved around everyday, yes I realise some new starters do already, a thick as fxxk idea to get rid of seniority. I've always thought seniority a good idea even when I started 3 decades ago. It's not as thought in deliveries you can pick a piss easy duty anymore, just choose an area you might prefer

What a shambles.

How are new starters meant to learn anything from this system? At least on a dedicated duty over a couple of weeks they might learn something.

Park and loop? That's now out the window.... chaos as people argue which bits they're doing and then the manager steps in and it becomes ripe for nepotism.

How do you plan ahead for timed deliveries when you're no idea what you'll be doing from one day to the next? Some posties I know need to do a duty the EXACT same way every time so this system would cause massive anxiety to them.

Under this system staff turnover would be higher than it already is and long term staff would leave as they get pissed off. Just what Royal Mail want.

As expected, here they come for the whole idea of having a duty. When you start as a reserve you look forward to the day you can land a duty of your own - why bother putting in the decades now? Trick question. No-one starting now is under the illusion they're going to make it to retirement doing this job.
