Mail going Missing

Post by leiwolf »

Hi their
I have actually got a wee problem and looking for some advice, whether I am being daft or paranoid I have no idea.
Some of my mail, and mail for the area which I live in, (I have had a few complaints about this.) have not been arriving when they should be or at all. Now first reaction is blame the postman but I can't blame the postman because A I work with him and apart from penny pinching, I do trust him, plus I check my mail quite often whens he sorting(He actually lets me know what letters I have got and my family have.) and B letters, cards, parcels are still going missing even when hes off and the someone doing the round, ie, someone like me. I have tried complaining once before when my CD player got stolen, but my dom is as much use as a chocolate kettle on a shove with tweedle dee and tweedle dum using flame throwers.

In the past few weeks alone I have had a bank card plus pin not turned up, a few documents, and now its turns out even a cd.

So what should I do, i am going in to my office tomorrow to have another with the dom but again hes useless so any suggestions.

You're going to have to move the complaint to Customer Services who will send the complaint electronically to your DOM - he cannot then ignore it. There will then be a process of checking via test letters and maybe bogus packages which will be tagged and tracked - innocent people need not be concerned - even you won't know when a trace is being used.

I once had someone complain to me on my delivery about not receiving electric bills, credit card bills and such like - I told them to report it and gave them the number but they never did. It always amazed me that they thought I would take it seriously! Only bills going missing? Maybe they thought I was pinching them and paying their bills!

I'd have thought it would be a case for IB.

Eventually - but I've heard they've let some of them go recently and they are a little bit stretched.

Phone them direct and report it, as well as phoning customer services, they both use different systems to record complaints. 0207 2396655

Why not find out if there is a major thieving spree in main mail centre for your area as it might be stolen there before arriving at your delivery office. Have you check with other walks in case there is similar problems.

TBH now you have posted that leiwolf you really have little choice you will have to go to the IB to report it. After all if they found out you suspected something and did nothing then you would be put under the microscope as a suspect even though you were not the guilty party.

I would strongly recommend contacting them straight away, or if you prefer go to the Police they will have their own contacts to the IB.

I have already reported it to my dom and the cluster dom this morning, do i also need to report it to IB if I already done that?
The reason why I know is because I live in one of the areas, and I have friends and family living living round the others, over the past few years I had quite a few come up to me to have words, I keep telling them to report it to customer service, or to my office.

No leave it to them but document that you did approach them and keep bugging them about it as well. Of course they may already be doing something about it such as test letters and packets and you would and should not be aware if they are.
