The council elections are every year, the term of office for each councillor is 4 years I think, vote anything BUT Labour and give the Labour party a KICKING. If Labour take a beating in the council elections, all the LABOUR MP's in the marginal seats will be worried than they will lose their cushy job with perks & allowances that they will want to get rid of 'Bottler' Brown. This is the ONLY way to make YOUR VOICE heard. Relying on the CWU heirarchy to lobby the government has proved to be the WRONG WAY. Use your vote tactically and DO NOT VOTE LABOUR!!!!!! You can get rid of the tories when Labour listens to the PEOPLE, after all WE HOLD THE POWER IN OUR PENS!!!!!!!!!!

Spot on vulcan!!!! lets kick em in the council elections and if they still refuse to listen lets vote them in the general elections, i know people will say then we will get a tory government, well we already have!!! Until we the people make which ever party is in office listen to us instead of big business, then unfortunat;ey we will be countinually mis ruled by incompetent, lying, greedy bastards!!! When i say listen to the people i dont just mean where the RMs concerned, everybody is suffering with the extortionate cost of living and the public services are slowly but surely being privatised, bit by bit which is unbelieviable considering that not 1 of the industries that have been privatised have become better or cheaper, for christ sake we still subsidise the rail industry to the tune of a billion a year, while virgin annouce huge profits, how the f**k does that work? Its the same with RM, basically US the british tax payer is subsidising private and very often foreign companies i.e. TNT!!! :evil/mad :evil/mad

I'm voting Tory and I don't care what anyone says on here.

Trade unions are finished as far as I'm concerned!!

Labour Party? Stuff em as they've stuffed us and make sure the tories get a huge following.

Desertion of the working class?

So long as he is not a Maoist.

Just to add because politics is such an emotive subject try not to slag people off if they vote anything different to you. I am "another party" as I am going Green this time round. They seem to have more in common with my beliefs regarding big business and socialism. They are also my closest match to a mix of True Conservative Values and True Labour Values in that no part of the population should be treated better than the rest, Business, Family, People - no group should be treated in isolation to the rest.

'Left List' across the board in the mayoral/GLA elections in London. Although I'll probably hold my nose and give Livingstone my 2nd pref in the mayoral election.

I had Labour canvasses around here last week who were trying to convince me what a waste of a vote that would be. 'It'll split the vote and let the Tories in', she said. Which was an open invitation to reply with 'so Labour will keep the seat then?'. I almost felt sorry for them. I can't think of many worst jobs then canvassing for the Labour Party, at the moment (there is another gag here, isn't there? :chuckle ).

It's NEW LABOUR now. Labour was abandoned along with it's principal's and policy's. But i think they could have at least have given it the correct name for it's right wing policy's and called it THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY.
