RMCtv : WE ARE AWARE THERE IS SOME CONFUSION SURROUNDING DATA SHOWN ON PAYSLIPS FOR AUGUST SALARY AND PAY DATE 2ND SEPTEMBER FOR WEEKLY PAID EMPLOYEES.
Pay Slip Information
WE ARE AWARE THERE IS SOME CONFUSION SURROUNDING DATA SHOWN ON PAYSLIPS FOR AUGUST SALARY AND PAY DATE 2ND SEPTEMBER FOR WEEKLY PAID EMPLOYEES.
RECOVERY LUMP SUM (NPEN)
Employees in grades represented by CWU received an advance payment in July equivalent to a 2% increase on basic pay for the period April 2022 to end of August 2022. (this was paid on 1st July weekly paid and July salary for monthly)
The pay award has now been implemented and back dated to the beginning of April to include basic pay, all relevant allowances, supplements, and overtime etc. The lump sum payments have now been recovered to account for the backdated payments employees have now received. This shows on payslips as Lump Sum (NPen)
OTHER PAYMENTS
Unfortunately we have limited space to display items on our payslips.
When there is not enough room to list all entries on a payslip, the remaining payments are combined and will show as Other Payments on your payslip.
If you would like a detailed breakdown of the ‘other’ section, it can be requested through "Ask a Question" facility available on the People App. If you do not have access to the People app your line manager can request the breakdown on your behalf via the My HR Help form on PSP.
INDUSTRIAL ACTION
If local abatements for Industrial Action on 26th August were keyed in by Friday 5pm, then this will also be reflected in weekly paid employees deductions for this week. Abatement entries keyed after this date will be reflected in payslips on 9thSeptember.
Deductions for Industrial Action will show as ‘Unpaid Absence’ on pay slips. The abatement figure will be made up of basic pay plus allowances such as delivery supplement. The number of hours abated is taken from employees work schedule on PSP. If an employee believes the number of hours deducted is incorrect, they should contact their line manager who can check their work schedule on PSP and update information if required.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Does this mean that they will now deduct the few hundred quid lump sum that they "gave us" a while ago?

Put the deductions on the deduction side and there is loads of room!

No they’ve added it at beginning then taken it away as already paid it, all there doing is adding back pay overtime and supplements to this week pay

Same here. That's a lot of money taken off for a one day strike from last week
I've asked HR to clarify it on their app what the breakdown of the "other payments" that they have taken off actually is because it doesn't say on mine
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

This is what I'm thinking
Because the amount they have deducted is a lot more than just a one day strike. Are they taking £200 from us just so they can "afford" to pay the managers their £1k bonus?

For absolute God's sake everyone- they paid everyone 200 up front a few months ago.
Call it a bribe to make out they've given you it so you think theyre great and wont strike- they haven't.
Now they've calculated what you have actually earned between the date it was paid and 31st August, and added 2%.
Then taken off the 200 already given.
You then have a plus or minus amount on this weeks pay based on this figure.
Going forward 2% will be added automatically.
If we end up with, say, a 5% rise they'll backpay the difference of 3% to 31st August.
The 200 has NOTHING to do with missing pay for striking
What's so hard to understand???!!

So the £200 was just like a "loan" then? It was always going to be taken away

In a way, yes.postslippete wrote: ↑31 Aug 2022, 22:15So the £200 was just like a "loan" then? It was always going to be taken away
And, no.
It was never a loan, they were just trying to force 2% on us to look good to the media.
But don't think of it like they've now taken something away.
Seems to me some peeps are thinking this is some part of a conspiracy with pay being taking away underhandedly.
Apologies for my frustration, but let's all just try and keep our wits about us and understand the bigger picture.

So what is this:
“Arrears of unpaid absence -£110.22”

To those who are annoyed at people not getting it; of course we don't get it, it's not a normal way of doing things
