Still leaving mail in frame everyday

Post by Rage24 »

And it stays there till the next day.

Is it likely to go back to managers having to cover all the days mail or is it staying like this?

Can’t see it changing now. How can it ? COVID still an excuse & offices up and down the country chronically understaffed & overworked; told to prioritise T24/T48 & specials. That’s without bringing revisions into the fold.
If anything, it would get worse I imagine.
There is absolutely no way they would be able to clear offices everyday now, unless they heavily recruited.
And we saw Royal Mail’s stance on recruitment recently.
 :no no
“We aren’t recruiting at the moment, too expensive. And while we’re at it, we’ll take some vans off you for XMAS” 🎄 that’s what happened with us anyway.
That’s the kind of help you’re looking at when you really need it.

I dont think they are interested in investing the money and hours to guarantee a clear office anymore. Unless there is mass public complaint this will keep happening in my opinion...

I've already been told that tomorrow I'll be delivering just tracked and specials on two walks rather than clear all my own... I just do that the ask now, work my time and dont worry. Although it is a disgrace but not our problem.

Shame it's got this way. Looking to get into distribution and get on the lorries at some point. Deliveries are a Shocking days work now. I've have enough and dont want overtime. Especially the hours they offer these days

And it stays there till the next day.
Some of ours stays in trays at the IPS frames.
Some is transported to frames where it sits unprepped.

Putting mail in frames is a distant memory for some people.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Leave it in the frame, i would rather that, than take it all out, only to put it all back in again the next day

Some of our frames have Mail from at least a week ago piled up around them. I only took one side of my shared round out today and only the test kits of the other side. All large and small parcels including tracked have been left in. No doubt for me to get stuck into tomorrow. So that will be triple Mail and double packets and test kits on the other side. 29,681 steps today. Back to being totally shattered at the end of shift again and fit for nothing at home. All this and we’ve been taken off the naughty list. So this must be the new OK now.

I was reading somewhere a couple of days ago that in the New Year the amount of test kits will be ramped up to 3 million a day

Jesus, that is a depressing thought. It'll be a york full of parcels and a york full of test kits in early 2022. Going to be fun :dance ;liar

Judging by todays s**t show , I’m not expecting much to improve in 2022.They couldn’t care less how many days letters sit in frames as long as they are saving hours . I’m staggered the union and ofcom have let this happen for so long under the guise of Covid .It’s demoralising in my office leading to high sickness rates and we are simply going through the motions every day .Before someone says just work your hours and go home , well that’s what we are doing but it doesn’t make it more acceptable.

The Union has let us down regarding this, the LTB released a few weeks ago clearly stated that both sides were committed to the USO. This is simply not true. Agency workers could have been used over the Xmas period in delivery but a decision was made not to do so and the results are dire. Profits will be up because of a lack of spend but other than that it's piss poor performance from management.

I saw plenty of people delivering their cards personally this year on account of the price of stamps, but they also have the added advantage of knowing it actually got delivered before Christmas. In spite of reaffirming the USO, it seems the company is trying to help kill off letters by reducing the service to such a level you wouldn't bother using it.
The machine stops.
