Don't sell your stamps online!

Post by mattick »

A manager today told me heard about someone getting suspended for selling their stamps on eBay. It’s a violation of competition policy or something like that

Our union rep buys almost everyone's 25 for £15, 50 stamps for £30 cash which he sells on eBay, he even puts a poster up every year advertising the fact & almost all the office sell to him, been doing it for years nothing ever said.

another 1 just listed too, not sure of the legalities of saying giving them to a friend and they selling them on, or if the ref no on pic can be linked, but it gives the sellers home town too

Let’s hope his eBay name is not his real name as you can see he works in Ammanford and the pic was taken at work on his frame, would not be too hard to work out who it is

Don't see the issue myself. RM not liking the fact that they're losing revenue from lost stamp sales? Prove it.

It's not like sending it 1st class gets there any quicker now, it's literally luck that dictates delivery time, unless it's tracked :left:

took me 30 seconds to find his d/o on the opg chart too
hopefully it's not anything worth a conduct, it is pretty trivial to be honest and i'd doubt even the tax man would hound you over a book of 50 stamps sold

technically you're not allowed to sell them on, this seller also gives his real name and area where he works as well and also add taking photographs inside their office of opened mail, wrong on so many levels and could lead to dismissal if progressed by someone higher up

Would the fact that he/she/(enter pronoun) took the photo in the workplace, and presumably within working hours, be grounds for conduct, regardless of the issue of even selling the stamps?

Doubtful from my limited understanding. As long as sensitive data and business practices weren't showing, i'd guess they'd have to prove person wasn't on break.
