Tax code change
Has anyone else noticed a tax code change in this weeks wage slip? My tax has increased by over £5 a week for some unknown reason

Re: Tax code change
£20 per year tax change… may have lost a uniform cleaning allowance or something of that nature.

Re: Tax code change
I think this is due to any "Benefits in kind" you have received which has lowered your personal allowance for this tax year.
I received a new tax code this week on my payslip, however, I also received a letter in the post giving me my "new tax code" for the 2021/2022 financial year.
So I can only assume the reason I was heavily taxed this week, is that the rather minor change to my taxcode (personal allowance reduction) was backdated to April (start of the new financial year).
Hope that helps some folk.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Tax code change
This is why I never touched any of that. As it was quite expensive to begin with. Anything but 1257L is non standard tax code.
