Post by Dbosh »

Do you think it fair that after if got out of hospital for a heart attack and stroke ,I had 130 calls put on my walk , surprisingly by the union ..who swear blind my walk needed it ..now I never complete , so I have had to go above my office reps to get something done , but this means lol that the rep and the managers are trying to get rid of me

One don't get stressed by it just bring it back as long as you tell them before hand you cannot complete there is not much they can do about it. If they up the pressure by shouting at you or abusing you lodge a complaint if it has gone beyond that stage go sick do not return and they will pay you off or you could sue them for constructive dismissal.

No, you have to resign to claim constructive dismissal and we rarely win those at the employment tribunal

The person on it while you were off must have been finishing very early, if one of the young posies do my walk they get done an hour quicker of course they dont take a break so its only 20 mins or so quicker. All i would do is use the over running procedure. You have done well to return so you should follow any advice your doctor gives you good luck.

long way before they could get you out, and then it would have to be through IHR.
If youre struggling then the first port of call would be to see a dr and consult with them to find out your post surgery condition and ability to do this type of work. If OH havent been contacted to this point, then this will be the next step which will likely be enforced if youre refusing to do what management see as your full duty. With the dr and OH recommendations your workload should be adjusted to their advice, in your case im sure this is something that will be under revision every few months.

How far away is the local MC? Maybe worth finding out if they could accommodate you (bear in mind that they might already have their own DDAs, etc to deal with)

I don't mean to sound unsypathetic, glad you're up & about ..... However TBH the fact you've come out of Hospital after an illness should bear no relevance on what's been added to your duty.

There's No Such Thing as "Light Duties" in RM .... once you've completed your Return to work Plan you're either FITto Work, or You're NOT Fit to work.

What is more Relevant is that these changes were made "Behind your back", and you never agreed to them. I'm surprised the CWU Rep acted that way, I'm sure there must be more to the story. :hmmmm Did the Area Delivery Rep agree with the changes?

It often feels that everyone's out to get you once you've started to rock the boat. As previously suggested use the Over Running Procedure, and I'd suggest you don't give anyone any excuse to have a go at you by working "Properly" for the immediate future. :cuppa
