We are supposed to be having a revision in October, does this mean a full repick in the office? Also what else normally happens?

Should be having a revision before October, if it’s a full office revision then should have a re pick.

Generally all the bits that have been added to frames over the years will be reworked using actuals, so if bobs been getting back 30 mins early everyday for the last year and sandras been going over with the growth if the streets are near each other they will be moved over.

Then all the jobs will go in a hat then on seniority they will be picked out according to contract, ie full timers jobs part timers jobs.

Why? A repick is usually done on seniority regardless of contract hrs.

As per usual...

I would genuinely, really like someone to explain how some of these walks are designated as Full-time and part-time.

Currently on a walk with 650 stops... it's a PT walk..... many FT duties with far less and therefore a lot less prep required.... you know, the ones that are out the door by 9am, an hour ghosting and still back by 130.

Wow! Lucky you, that should be fun,a chance maybe to get back on a level playing field perhaps, these should be done more and more, here’s why I constantly finish the time I do,yes it’s not all the time, and no I don’t want to be ridiculed by you over the phone,as to what time I finished the other day,and I appreciate you may have to ring guys up at home to come back in and help finish a duty,as bizarre as that is,no builds on deliveries with no debate or conversation on who will be delivering the mail.keep quiet and it will go away maybe??and someone laughs that you have bags of time to deliver extra, who’s been long gone home while you start your extra!!

Is there any gain to RM & management having a re-pick?

38 hr duties normally have indoor content attached to the duty such as sorting or double walk prep, whereas duties with lesser hours should have lesser or no indoor content at all... but in practice it doesn’t always happen that way. Comparing walks by call rate is a very unreliable guide as every walk terrain is different as in terrace houses vs detached houses with long drives etc

Full office revision will mean a repick. I suspect duties will be tweaked based on pda actuals.

I've never understood the stupidy of ft vs pt duties.

All duties have an "equal" outdoor delivery span so anyone can go for any duty. The indoor aspect isnt attached to the duty anymore in our office. A fulltimer will start 2+ hr before a parttimer & do the prep, ips etc stuff.

Yes there are certain duties that are fulltime because they are different but most dont fall into this category.

I wonder if they bring in annual revisions if repicks will end up being a thing of the past.
