Amazon
Past couple of days certain areas in our office have been hammered with amazon and amazon prime.
I thought we didn't have the contract with amazon, we were wondering if the amazon driver was off so they sent them through us.....any thoughts..

Re: Amazon
We’ve been getting hammered with Amazon throughout the pandemic, not sure how it works but does seem strange we deliver their stuff and it actually makes us fail mail.

Re: Amazon
Amazon went from our office about 5 years ago.
Now when Amazon get swamped they just dump them on us and RM treat them as priority items. RM being RM they no doubt give Amazon massive discounts despite the contract never coming back to us. And with the current volumes the Amazon packets will just mean even more mail will fail.

Re: Amazon
Our office has always retained the Amazon contract so we're permanently hammered with them.

Re: Amazon
Generally the only post code areas that get Amazon stuff through locally are ones where they're all or virtually all rural

Re: Amazon
We're a rural office, but we've lost most of our Amazon parcels

Re: Amazon
Don’t think it works like that. A friend who did some work for them a couple of times said he had to download an app on his phone. You then get a list of the available work/areas to cover, the first to click accept gets the work. I don’t think I have ever had the same Amazon driver come to my door and they are here every other day thanks to Mrs Grumpy.

Re: Amazon
Our sorting office got hammered with Amazon Prime parcels in the run-up to Christmas... mostly the islands where they don't have their own delivery network (Shetlands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands). All sent on Tracked 24 and taking 7 days to get delivered with the backlog

Re: Amazon
I bought some cupcake toppers (costing £1.10) off Amazon Prime last week, and they were delivered via RM Special Delivery - no idea why, maybe they expected disruption due to snow? They bleed money left, right and centre, with a razor thin profit margin that relies on high volume.
