Serious breach of trust
I cannot go into too much detail but a mate of mine at work had a small dispute regarding taking breaks, flagged up by the PDAs. No conduct but basically resulted in my mate doing everything by the book and cutting off once time was up. About 5 days after this, while delivering their absorbtion, they came round a corner to see their office CWU rep taking photos of their van, inspecting the tyres then disappear behind the van. My mate pretended to carry on delivering and then saw the rep peering through the van windows to see where he was. Mate approached him asking what he was up to and was told it was a wind up. Mate noticed a parcel propped up on windscreen of van while talking to rep. Known this person for 20 odd years and they have a spotless record and not the type to overreact to anything. Rep admitted next day but adamant it was a wind up. Mate hardly ever talks to the rep so can't see why he would try to wind them up. Got regional reps involved but not sure who to trust on this matter. Anyone know a contact for anyone higher up the chain.

Was the parcel for one of the delivery point's on your mate's absorption?
is the insinuation that the rep was trying to frame him for ''leaving'' a parcel unattended on his van exterior?

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Mate didn't mention the parcel to the CWU rep, just noticed it resting there. Thought the rep might think it wasn't spotted. Scared the f*** out of my mate as no other explanation made sense apart from a stitch up. Sounds ridiculous but wouldn't dismiss anything in our office

Piss poor wind up if it actually was one! What are the odds this rep is in bed with the manager?

Was there not a report a while back of someone being framed, he emptied his van when he got back, sorted out the slipped parcels etc then was dragged into the office and asked why he had a full bag of mail (for another round) in his van.
Personally if that happened to me with the rep I’d take it as high up as possible. I’d put in. Grievance and ask why a rep has access to the vehicle. I’d photograph everything, the parcel involved etc. And going forward I’d take a quick photo of the dashboard (with time stamp) before every loop.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

The union will just close ranks and back their rep , it’s happened before at my office but in different circumstances.

unless the original post is a wind up, then we're in dark times if a guy who's supposed to help protect jobs is trying to get someone the sack.
if the rep openly admits "the prank" then everyone he's entrusted with needs to know, no rep is surely better than that rep in this case
if true, and i can quite believe it, we have some very nasty posties in our office
pretty sure most of posties wouldn't like to be an office rep, i certainly wouldn't, but would go in any disciplinary if asked to
the jobs hard enough as it is without worrying about the slightest mistake
