How big is your walk (amount of packets)
I'm curious how walks differ on the amount of packets, obviously town center and rurals will be less but general paired walks how many packets are you getting at the moment, myself pretty much every day have 2 full York's of big packets and at least 2 mini York's of packets, my walk is one of the worst regarding packets as it's quite a affluent area, and it is was busy before the s**t hit the fan.

In the middle of April we were at our busiest, I'm on a urban rural 400 calls.
2 yorks of tracked/untracked parcels, 1 york of parcelforce and 1 york of special deliveries (30 SD from Amazon)
Also shifting 3 full packet bags of small packets and 2 trays of sequenced mail + about 1.5 trays of flats
Now I'm only doing about 3 yorks of parcels and 2 packet bags as it has gone down abit but still about 50% up since lockdown started

'back in the day' it seemed the more affluent areas would have fewer delivery points but generally have much more mail and packets and the less affluent not such much mail and packets but more delivery points to kind of balance it out, but now i don't think it really matters there all pretty much the same for packets (in my opinion).dohnut wrote:I'm curious how walks differ on the amount of packets, obviously town center and rurals will be less but general paired walks how many packets are you getting at the moment, myself pretty much every day have 2 full York's of big packets and at least 2 mini York's of packets, my walk is one of the worst regarding packets as it's quite a affluent area, and it is was busy before the s**t hit the fan.
God help you if you have PO local collect on your delivery, 27 is the record in one day.

Sounds like Amazon don't deliver where you are if you're getting that many specials. What a ball ache.Munchboii wrote:In the middle of April we were at our busiest, I'm on a urban rural 400 calls.

Yes you're exactly right, there is no Amazon here. The amazon has always been shared between Hermes and Royal Mail. It used to be the case that Hermes got the majority of it but in the last 3 months its shifted massively towards Royal Mail getting the majority because Hermes were failing the next day delivery target due to some logistical factor. So now the Amazon algorithm goes mad and shifts it all to us through SD.Seymour Buts wrote:Sounds like Amazon don't deliver where you are if you're getting that many specials. No idea if amazon is paying SD prices for them though...
