Saving hours

Post by robbertwhitton »

Once again the rumours have been rumbling about hours to be saved in our office(much like other offices no doubt) wanting to save 44 hours,it’s all hear say as ever, the boss hasn’t said anything but then that’s nothing new,to say he’s lost the dressing room is a tad of an understatement,i would gladly go after 38 years and at 58,starting to suffer with my hip and knee problems, how realistic is it for me to be offered evr?doni simply need a conversation with the powers that be?

I think there is the possibility of EVR being available. It probably depends on how many staff they want to lose versus how many just leave of their own accord. RM are being extra tight with money at the moment for example we lost two full timers but its likely they will push for us to take two part time instead. This wouldn't be feasible in our DO though.
The current talks between RM and the union will bring change and I cannot remember any changes in twenty years negotiated by the union that were worth having. Best not to think about it too much.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.
