I work in a South East Kent D.O, anyway my DOM left early when he was due to manage at our office. Anyway I was having a chat with a colleague and it transpired that our DOM was going to Folkestone D.O to DELIVER MAIL! Apparently he hoped there wasn't much so he could go home and watch the rugby! But seriously, a Manager doing OPG's work???? I asked my colleague where was the union involved in this and he just shrugged, seriously w.t.f. is going on???

This has happened numerous times in our office over the years, and we've had a few DOMs come and go. They ALL at some point have had to deliver mail. It's their responsibility to plan and resource to the workload, but if things go tits up and they can't find anyone to cover, then they HAVE to do it.

Not unless they're going to fail deliveries and leave it until the next day, which also has happened under certain 'managers'.

That's concerning enough, but it's the ones that try to do indoor work that are really concerning, because they take away from OPG work AND also 'help' us get out the door quicker. (Although it's not really helping our PDA actuals is it?).

Of course its very rare that a manager does a whole walk. From what ive seen they usually split a walk between about 3 of them and then go out in their cars, leaving the packets on top of the frame with kill offs not been done either.

and delivery bags missing, D2D's they can't be arsed delivering left in bags, redirections scattered, crap everywhere, keys mislaid, vehicle paperwork
not filled in, laggy bands all over the frame and floor.........'it's easy that walk, did it about 45 mins faster than you normally do it, what's the problem?'
