Many years ago we had a Colleague Shares certificate.
These weren't real shares but they still supposedly had a monetary value.
When we were due to get a few thousand pounds for them, Royal Mail decided they were worthless.
In the ensuing hoo-ha the union negotiated the incentive uderpin payment so we got some money as a result of the phoney share fiasco.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
