People who live on barges

Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place.

I was asked today how people who live on barges get their mail as they dont have a fixed address.

Does anyone know the official line on it?

Thanks in advance

Doubt there is any "official line" on it... it's just up to them to arrange some form of postal address or c/o address.

I deliver to a few,the official address is the farm that they are moored alongside. They all have boxes on telegraph poles near them.I expect the official line is don't deliver to them give all mail to the farm but,it's been the done thing for years long before I started on the round.
