My office changed ours years ago, this year will probably start 9th December. To me this is too late, it's much busier the previous week.

Almost a certainty there will be a general election as nothing can get sorted until the MPs that have been delaying everything for three years are voted out. Will most likely be at the end of November when we are at our busiest.

Don't know if we normally count all the GE stuff for DOs but if it ends up happening during xmas pressure, there's no chance of that happening. 1) we won't have the room, 2) we won't be able to spare anyone. If it arrives at the MC already sorted to DOs it'll get sent straight to the DOs. Election leaflets probably all come through as d2d anyway. Poll cards, the best you can hope for is walk sorted, no point in trying to sequence them on a CSS as they virtually all get rejected by the machine on the 2nd pass. With postal vote forms it depends on what capacity there is (trying to sequence them on IMPs/iLSMs is probably not an option as they'll be running outward and inward plans., best you can probably hope for is walk sort only through there's probably a high chance they'd just get sent as manual

I foresee a huge amount of cut offs and hand backs if that's the case, 700 polling cards only walk sorted? Then God only knows how many party political leaflets all coming in on different days all to be counted, delivered and recorded? I am seeing a steep increase in packets already and that's before the Black Friday Cyber Monday bullshit. Roll on the strike.

They can only block off four weeks due to Christmas and that's agreed. Get your Rep onto this.
