I've a question about the contract I am on.
It's a 27 and a half hour a week contract yet the wage slip and the actual contract say 27.05 not 27.5
I did ask the manager a while ago and was told that's just how it's noted down........but that doesn't seem to be right.
Is that correct or am losing almost half an hour's wage each week?
Thanks

I am on 27 1/2 hours also mate. Mine says 27.50 in my contract
Mind you my manager has told me that my official start time is 9.15 and finish time 2.48 which doesn't make any sense as it doesn't add up

think it should say 27.30 as it means 27 hours and 30 mins. 27.5 would be 50 minutes. That's how overtime works in our office anyhow as it caused confusion there too.

In your wage slip it should say BASIC PAY 27.30 (Thats 27 hours 30 minutes)
27 & 1/2 hours, yes
27.5, maybe
27.3, maybe (probably this one)
27.05, Definite No

I'm on a 27.05 contract too but my manager thought it was 27 1/2. I noticed that I was loosing 25 min pay each week.
My contract is being changed to 27 1/2 and I'm getting my lost 25 min a week repaid.

No to me it should be 27.5 as .5 ( 50 not 05 ) is 50% and therefore half of an hour the same as one and a half of something is usually noted as 1.5hero22 wrote:think it should say 27.30 as it means 27 hours and 30 mins. 27.5 would be 50 minutes. If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Thanks for the replies.....called the payroll dept and they have confirmed it should be 27.3 for the half hour.
Spoke to the manager this morning and he will try and sort it out as my contract ( and also that of the other person that started the same day) also say 27.05
